Ulf Hackauf is a teacher and researcher at the Delft University of Technology, where he participates in the Winy Maas-led Why Factory.
Hackauf graduated from Technische Universität Braunschweig in 1999 and moved to the Netherlands to join Erick van Egeraat associated architects, where he worked as project architect on various developments in Germany, Great Britain, Denmark, and the Netherlands. He was responsible for the design and execution of the “A.A.Heijmans van den Bergh” building at the University of Utrecht, which has since been honored with the Rietveld Prize.
From 2006 until 2008, Hackauf worked as a project architect at Neutelings Riedijk Architecten, where he was in charge of the design of the new leisure building of Holland Casino in Utrecht. In 2008, he started his own research and design practice “hackauf.com”. Together with Winy Maas en Pirjo Haikola, he is responsible for the Why Factory’s most recent publication of the Why Factory, The Green Dream.
